Classroom Rules: Rules in my classroom are few. I believe that as all children are different, and that all actions and reactions are very personal in nature. Effective discipline involves a few overriding tenets rather than a long list of specific rules of dos and don’ts. Situations are dealt with as they arise with the focus on enabling the child to grow and learn from his or her actions and choices. Basic Classroom Rules to follow: Rule 1: Follow directions quickly.
Rule2: Raise your hand for permission to speak.
Rule 3: Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.
Rule 4: Make smart choices.
Rule 5: Keep your dear teacher happy!
“Sign Ins”: If a student is not able to follow the classroom rules and expectations, he or she will be asked to “Sign In”. Guidelines for classroom “Sign Ins” during the week are as follows:
1- Sign In’s (Warning and One-on-One talk with the teacher)
2- Sign In’s (Loss of recess and fill out a "refocus")
3- Sign In’s (Loss of recess fill and a Referral)
4- Sign In's (Loss of recess fill out a "Referral" and no Fun Friday)
Please Note: Parents will be contacted the day of the “Sign In” only if the issue is something the student and I can not solve together or if the behavior or something that continually occurs.
* If your child receives four or more Sign In's in during the school week, a parent email or phone call will be sent home to inform you of your child's behaviors.
